Four prayer-activists from the Trinity Nuclear Abolition crew conducted held vigil @ LANL yesterday. Donna Martinez of LANL Security had been silent about the extent of free speech she would allow before interfering. Therefore two men went onto LANL property to distribute Mordechai Vanunu's poem. LASO/LANL/ProForce security personnel did not threaten to make any arrests on this day. The Trinity Nuclear Abolitionists (TNA) prayer-activists continued to pray and distribute literature for the full two hours they wanted--at the corner of Diamond Drive and West Jemez Rd. October 22nd is also the anniversary date of 5 nuclear bomb explosions. See http://www.lovarchy.org/plethora/releaseTEN-SEVEN.html for more info.

Trinity Nuclear Abolitionists will return for more prayer-actions each month, with the hope for the establishment of a Peace Camp-out in April.

HUNG JURY! NUCLEAR ABOLITION IS VALID OPTION FOR LOS ALAMOS

On April 14th, 2008 two members of Trinity Nuclear Abolitionists (TNA) were arrested for praying at Los Alamos National Laboratory in opposition to war taxes. Mike Butler is awaiting a court hearing on his plea bargain, but Marcus Page was put through trial on Monday the 18th. After four hours of deliberation, the jury failed to reach a consensus in Page's trial. The prosecution (Los Alamos Police Department) may choose to re-try Page. The two men were part of a group of six who held vigil during daylight hours on April 14th & 15th. Charged with trespassing on Department of Energy land, both men believe they were praying openly along the public road in county territory, and they believe the Laboratory has no rights to conduct nuclear weapons work anywhere.

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a facility of the Department of Energy (DoE). TNA continues to conduct monthly vigils on Department of Energy land at Los Alamos National Laboratory, the next vigil is scheduled for September 9th @ 8:00am. Marcus Page said yesterday, "The trial was conducted professionally, and the jury was a good cross-section of Los Alamos Americans, therefore, no agreement could be reached."
